Globetrotting Diaries - Grand Canyon

I had some really wild imaginations about Grand Canyon (Arizona, U.S.)! But anyways it was more that I could have imagined, such a beautiful landscape, it made us feel as if we had landed on some other Planet! I mean really when you head towards the park there are these large pine trees all along the way and suddenly comes the Canyon and you are in another world! As I talked about my wild imaginations as a result of movies, I thought it would be all Orange, but that is only in Vivid colors and HD, but we got a glimpse of orange hues during the sunset! We visited the South Rim.

What you actually see is the deep Canyon (really deep) carved by the mighty Colorado River, Varying layers of Colors, amazing earthy tones of Browns & Reds, Greys & Black. For a Nature lover it is a must see spot, it is really a Natural Wonder!

The Grand Canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and attains a depth of over a mile (6,000 feet or 1,800 meters). Nearly two billion years of Earth's geological history has been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut their channels through layer after layer of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted. 2. That watchtower is so cool! This is another place I haven't been yet, but I did visit the Palo Duro Canyon in Texas about a month ago. Really beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
