Life...
It was a big week here in Singapore as it was her 50th Birthday!!
We mostly enjoyed all the fun from the comfort of our home, we did get out to catch the awesome fireworks though!

Here are some snapshots of the week...

People started to gather at the lawn to catch fireworks as early as 10 in the Morning...

Busy preparing for my second craft show here in Singapore, after a really bad experience at the first one I hope this one will be a bit better!! Also this one is quite different from the previous one, with certainly more focus on originality and handmade.

This week "The Art Bug" will be a MAAD Pyjamas design market at +Red Dot Design Museum Singapore . I would be selling Eco-Friendly Recycled paper Jewelry and Paper Flowers, all 100% Handmade:)

MAAD, Market Of Artists And Designers, is the largest recurring creative marketplace in Singapore promoting creations, designs, innovations and originality. It is initiated by the museum in 2006.

I have been busy making paper Roses for my upcoming market...

 

We will also be Marketing our first upcoming "Craft Classes", "PAPER BLOOMS", paper flower workshop in Singapore...

DIY Easy & Simple Fall Decor - Candle Holders & Twig Tree

But First...
How to Easily Remove Labels from Glass Bottles
I Re-use glass bottles for a lot of craft projects plus I also reuse them for refilling and storage.
They are safe and look good!
But sometimes it is really hard to get that label off, here are a few tips that have worked for me, believe me I have done this hundreds of times and there is no "ONE magic tip", but One of these will surely work.

• Fill the bottle with hot water without wetting the outside, leave for about 20 minutes, remove the label.
• First simply remove the label as much as you can, once you have just the white part remaining, generously apply vegetable oil to it, leave for a few hours, the label will come off easily, wash with hot water.
• Soak the bottle in hot water in a larger container, add a few drops of dish soap and 1/4 cup baking soda, leave for an hour or so, then wash.
• First remove the label as much as you can, mix equal parts of baking soda and vegetable oil, apply the paste to the label, let it sit for about an hour or so, wipe off with a paper towel, wash with hot water.

Now on to the Crafts...
Candle Holders
Materials:
Clean Glass Bottles
Ribbon
Simple, just tie the ribbon to the bottle neck!...

 

Twig Tree
Materials:
Natural twigs
Twine
Glass Bottle
Burlap Piece
Small Size Hand Cut or Punched Colorful Fall leaves
Craft Glue

 
Wrap the burlap around the bottle and tie with the twine to make the vase. Wash the twigs and let dry, color them/varnish if you want to. Place glue dots on the twigs, just randomly glue the leaves, let dry.

Tie the twigs together with twine if needed. That's it you are done!

DIY Fall Decor Ideas - Pumpkins & Cinnamon Bundles in Vases

Use these simple Materials - Few Cinnamon Sticks, Twines, Glass Bottles, Punched or hand cut Maple Leaves...

And create your cinnamon Bundle vases...Looks good and at the same time fills the room with Cinnamon scent! If you don't prefer cinnamon you can use twigs instead.

For the Pumpkins, you will need - Small Round or Squarish Glass bottles, Twine, Fabric Scraps, Pipe Cleaner, Cinnamon Sticks...

 Place your bottle in the center of a fabric square piece, take enough fabric to cover the bottle...

 Place the Cinnamon Stick in the center and gather your fabric...

 Tie up with the pipe cleaner, twist the pipe cleaner to make Tendrils...

 Make in Different Colors/Sizes and decorate as you like...
