Friday Feature- Megan from MegansBeadedDesigns.Etsy.Com

Hello…
My name is Megan.  I am a graphic designer by day and runner of 4 Etsy shops and a blog during every-time-in-between. I reside in Washington State and I am positively obsessed with beading.

My Craft…
I mostly make, and love making, beadwoven jewelry and hair accessories. I've been doing it since I was at least 7 years old, so it's like second nature to me.

My Inspiration…
I let my beads inspire me most of the time. If I don' make up a pattern for myself beforehand, I usually create my designs as I go along, allowing the beads themselves to make suggestions for me.

My AHA moment of being an Artist…
When people ask me where I go "that" (something I made and am wearing), I realize that they did not just want to tell how cool it is that I can make stuff, but that they would be willing to buy one for themselves. It's pretty revolutionary that someone would want to PAY MONEY to BUY MY CRAP so to speak kind of makes me stop looking at it as crap in the first place.

My Creative sides are ignited by…
I love reading and writing, I also love theatre and fashion and geekery. When i tire of one creative outlet, I can usually switch to another (like go from making a necklace to designing an invitation to writing a blog post). The variety keeps me energized.

My Masterpiece…
My green evil eye ring is my most popular item, and I love them.

Apart from Crafting …
I love attending rock concerts and going crazy in the mosh pit. I also love Broadway musicals and horror movies. Books are my mistress and art is my life. I'm a political junkie and I heart a good philosophical discussion. I'm also madly in love with my husband, who keeps me happy by making me cupcakes and keeping me smiling.

When I am busy creating …
I love listening to a good audio book while beading. It's my two favorite things at once: beading & reading. Pretty fantastic, if I do say so myself.

In ten years I would be…
Hopefully I will have my student loans paid off *crossing fingers*

Places to look for me…
